Anybody is welcome to attend this workshop (you dont need to be an acupuncturist).
The opening points of the eight extraordinary vessels (EV) are commonly used acupuncture points but are not evaluated in acupuncture books and forums. No analysis of the original document is found in any books in english.
In this workshop, I will evaluate the original work from an acupuncture theory standpoint which allows the practitioner to make an educated decision whether to use the points in clinical practice.
In this workshop, I take a professional level approach to evaluated each step of the three part hypothesis of the eight intersection points (later the name was changed to command, master, opening, confluent).
What you learn in this workshop:
The details of the original text of the eight “opening points”
How to do a professional analysis of the eight opening points hypothesis
What is in this text and what is not in this text
Where it names the EV and where it does not
The specific conditions the eight points treat and what they do not
The key assumption in what the eight points treatment
Discuss whether there is any acupuncture theory presented supporting the point relationships to the EV
Li Shizhen did not include them in his Eight Extraordinary Vessels book
How to treat the eight extraordinary vessels based on classical and traditional acupuncture
